Sekhmet is een Oud-Egyptische godin van oorlog, strijd en vuur. Zij werd
afgebeeld met een hoofd van een leeuw, gekleed in een rood gewaad. Haar
hoofd bevatte meestal een zonneschijf met een slang en soms hield ze een
was-scepter vast.
